BOGOTA, Colombia — A former Colombian insurgent chief has resurfaced in a video months after he turned his again on the peace course of amid a U.S. drug-trafficking probe.
Luciano Marin says within the video that he regrets the choice by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia at hand over its weapons below the 2016 peace accord, accusing the federal government of betraying its commitments to the guerrillas.
The FARC’s former chief peace negotiator, higher identified by the alias Ivan Marquez, doesn’t reveal his location within the video revealed Saturday by the leftist Bolivarian Press Company.
He hadn’t been seen since August when he dismissed his government-provided bodyguards and gave up a seat in congress.
U.S. officers are investigating Marquez for alleged drug trafficking that befell after the peace deal was signed.
